why is it that we all hate 2 links, yet chevy used them stock on 67-72 trucks I believe. Were they trailing arms suspensions? or was that 73+?

Why were the used by chevy on a truck, with seemingly no problems?

They were used on the Pre-72 trucks. I think it started in 60? Whenever the bodystyle came out after the Tri-5 style. It worked well, because it was so long, and provided a small amount of articulation. This articulation came from flex in the links, and also in the frame because Chevys are notorious for frame flex (or were). They also worked because they weren't adjustable.

My friends 73 has a 2-link, and it articulates at the frame. Meaning the whole frame flexes. If you drive behind him you can see the bed move with each bump.

Yes they do, but the Gm trucks spread the flex around, so that there wasn't a stress riser to start a crack from. Most minitruckers don't have the knowlege to build felx into their suspension and just end up either breaking something or no articulation at all.
