Just looking for some advice, I have never had a motor die before. I know this motor was rebuilt by previous owner, so I assume i dont want to try having it rebuilt again. Should i just go with a long block? I am up for an engine swap if there is a simple one. Are there any shops known for building better b2200 engines? I know those were a lot of questions...I am just trying to decide what direction to go. OH..time is not really an object...I would like to stay undr $2500 too.

It kinda depends on what died. Is it a head gasket? Are the rings shot? Did you lose the timing belt and have the head eat itself? My last engine problem was the computer for the fuel injection died. I couldn't figure it out. The codes were that all components failed. On a whim I went the the local "pull your part" and scored a computer for ten bucks. Plugged it in and it has been fine ever since. If your whole motor is toast, You know, with the rods hangin' out of the side of the block, I would consider swaping a junk yard small block chevy/ford. It is out of the question for me because of California SMOG laws...but I would love to have some HP!

ITS DEAD...the valves started pinging on my way home from work..then it lost power. i got it to the house (not sure how it did that). Now it wont even turn over. Like i said..this one has been rebuilt before.
