Hey, this is kind of a strange question. My brother picked up an Astro van as a daily beater. Turns out that the headlights don't work. Fuses/wiring appear to be good. He took it to a shop and they said it would be atleast $100 to figure it out. So I told him that we could probably just wire up a switch straight to the lights to turn on the lights. Is there anything wrong with this idea? (other than it being quite a ghetto fix and couldn't use brights). Also, what kind of wiring/switch would be able to handle the lights. Thanks!

So there not cutting on at all? And your sure you checked all the fuses? Be sure to check EVERYTHING before you just check the regular fuses. Also check your grounds and check the wires to even see if theres 12 Volts coming through the wire. Check the bulbs. Not saying you haven't done this but check again. Also pull the bulbs out and check and make sure the connection between the bulb and clips they snap in is clean. Might have a gunky substance inside the plug. You can either clean that or replace it. I hope some of this helps.
