Ok so its like 3 am and FNG should've been in bed but Noooo he decides to go to the garage and fix that pesky fuel leak. So as I'm looking around I see what looks like a piece of electrical tape stuck to my front passenger side airbag. As I go to grab it I realize its not tape but the whole side of my bag!! The damn sidewall split somehow and peeled up. Now explain this I don't rub on anything, I haven't driven the truck in like over 3 weeks, and it was layed out. So how the hell did it split? Dry rot? The actual ply thats underneath is intact and probably still works but I'm gonna go ahead and get it replaced to be safe. Thank goodness I didn't drive it anywhere. Anyone have this happen before? What's the deal and BTW these bags were used but not that damn much. Maybe 5000 miles on them and this was the first problem I've had with them.

that was a problem with the older bags, with the new EVOLUTION series that should not be happening. are they the old or new series bags?

i know a kid that has had 3 slams do that to him in the last few months. I just think he has bad luck or rides around with 200psi in his bags or something, because mine have way more miles than his and mine look brand new! and i am talking about the new EVOLUTION bags

Mine did that with the old style hs 72s. Probably a combination of over arcing and dry rot. I now have the new style bag and a better angle so I hope to not have any problems. I have yet to drive on them because I am body dropping the truck right now. If this happens again I will be really pissed and switching to juice. Good luck.

I have 10,000 miles on my bags and i run 200 psi and drive 3 hours one way with it locked all the way up. Zero problems

I had a slam bag do that before, they had a run of bags that the adhesive wasnt strong enough, so it started peeling. I drove around with the bag like that for awhile, before i could get it replaced....

So is it safe to drive on this bag for now? The inner structure wasn't affected at all.
