removing trim

kind of a dumb question, but i just bought a 2000 silverado and it still has the molding that runs down the bottom sides of the truck. i wanna rip it off but was wondering is there going to be any discoloration underneath from being on there so long.

what color is your truck?? I think you will be fine. after you get all the double sided tape off you will need to polish across where they where. make sure your truck hasnt been painted before and some one taped off a molding, cause that would look like crap.

there will be some discoloration but I don't think it will be bad. Just like trey said, you will need to polish it a little. And if you have never taken trim off before, an excellent tool is an eraser wheel you can get at auto zone. It's a rubber wheel that attaches to a drill. It works great and won't take paint off.
