I am wondering what the best way/method is to remove window tint? On my Mazda I did 5% on the side windows and 2.5% on the back and I want to take it off, its a little too dark for me now. I have never removed window tint so I am just trying to get some help on this. Is there a special method or is it just a pian to get off? Thanks

I have removed tint several times with just simply using a razor blade and patience. Just pull on it slowly.

soak it with soapy water, go to lowes or home depot and get the big razor with a handle for removing wall paper and start peeling. dont worry about getting the glue off the first time around, you can take the razor back and get it all off on a second go around.

heat gun might help

soak it with soap and water then stick a plastic bag to it. Let it sit in the sun for about 30 mins and the tint should just peel right off with no scaping at all.

I just peeled mine off and used a razor blade and some gasoline to get the remaining glue off.

I soaked the window in windex (WITH AMMONIA!), then peeled it off and scraped the glue with a brand-new razorblade.
I'n no expert, but this is the way it was described to me by my tint guy. basicly, tint has thousands of tiny holes, the more holes/bigger holes, the lighter the tint. when you use windex with ammonia, it penetrates the holes and breaks down the adhesive on the tint. this is why there is special window cleaner for tinted windows. hope this helps, give yourself a few hours

set the truck in the sun with windows up for 30 mins to an hour. With a clean(NEW) single edge razor blade pick at the top corner and start peeling down. slow and steady. dont worry about the glue haze left behind. Now once all the tint paper is basically off, mix up a spray bottle with dish soap(JOY, Palmalive etc) and warm water. spray on window and using downward strokes with the razor blade scrape off the glue.
The wet mushy glue you peel off will stick to some fabrics and make a mess depending how old the tint is. play it safe, be carefule and dont let it get on the upholstery

you can also peel the tint off then spray the glue with Simple Green cleaner and the glue will turn to mush and scrape off with a razor no problem
