I started to bag the front on my 97 chevy tonight and the lower cantrol arm is hitting the bottom of the frame and im 2 inches from layin frame. Whats my best option notch the control arm or the frame.I was blown away cause i didnt think it would take awhole lot to lay on 20 since i never heard anyone talk about it before. Any pics would be awesome too. Thanx

THe most common problem I have seen is the tierods hitting the frame..needs to be notched for that.

it does need to be notched you don't want your tie rod bending on you also trim what you need to along your control arms but make sure you plate what you take away just to make it strong.

I'm in the same boat as you are man. I still gotta notch for the tie rods and I got do something about my control arms. My control looks like its just on part of a gusset for the lower bracket so I was just gonna grind it down and see how much lower it would go. And I'm running 2" drop spindles too.

yeah ive already clearanced the rear and front lower arm mounts i dont have the tierods mount to the spindle yet cause i already new the frame needed notched for them. i was just cycling the suspension. so looks like im notching my lower control arms then. Thanx guys

you have to notch the control arm.....if you are looking at the passenger side....you need to notch the left side of the control arm...and the drivers side you notch the right side of the control arm....but like james said...make sure to plate it back....I just cut the piece out with the plasma....and slipped it under where I cut and welded it back.....
Look at this profile.....he did his the same way I did mine.....
