Im trying to get my project started, but i need to drive it to my new house about 30 miles away. My issue is that the fuel lines have rusted through just after they leave the sending unit. I have only taken a quick look at it, but they seem to have rusted through very close to the sending unit cap (about 4 inches). Would it be ok to simply clamp new rubber fuel lines directly to the old metal fuel line right after they leave the sending unit? The reason i ask, I noticed a larger nut type thing inline with the fuel line. I just wanted to make sure this was safe and that it would work for the time being so that i can drive it to my new house. Do they sell sending unit caps by them selves or would i have to buy a brand new sending unit all together? Thanks guys.

if the hardline is rusted.. cut it, put some rubber hose over it and clamp it securely.. start it up, if it doesnt leak after a few minutes, then it wont leak at all.
this is a temp fix, btw.
make sure its EFI hose if your truck is EFI
kool man.. thanks... does anyone know off hand what size the stock lines are?
the EFI hose is a bit pricey, I got transmission hose that holds the same pressure for like .60 cents a foot. I think the EFI hose is like $5.00 a foot. The transmission hose has held up for a couple years now. Just tring to save you some cash....
