had an idea

well since i have the new police wheels on the truck i thought why not go all out and make a police light switch box and to paint a badge on the side ...what one will look the best to lod style one the star with the round tips or the sheild looking one

I say the star one

dont get too close to looking like a cop, they will pull you over for impersonation, big fine if not jail and impound.

so if you saw my truck would you think it was a cop...sorry but a mini with a spray painted old western badge on the truck will never look like a real cop to me

tom,like lonslow said be very carefull about doing something simalar to a police vechicle.its not that you would get confussed about it being a police vechicle its the thought of impersonating a police vechicle.they get very anal about crap like that.here is what i have personaly seen up close a good friend of mine bought a baseball cap with a patch that had a police badge on it from some little hat shop in a mall later that nite we were out crusing around not doing anything bad but we got pulled over for a lic. check and insurance check.when the cop seen his hat he was mad as hell and placed my buddy in cuffs and was going to charge him with impersonating a cop.yeah the truck would look cool with an old western style badge on the door but just be carefull thats all.

im glad this is a thread, i was gonna paint my cab so it would look like a black and white...seems like a testy issue though

yeah, take the words of your peers...here in GA, it's a felony and the cops here get hella pissed about little things like that...had a buddy of mine go to jail just for having the strobes you get from ebay in his headlights for shows and his car was painted the same design as a GSP...they went nuts about it...just ask an officer what he thinks of the idea and see what might be ok and what will get you tossed in the pokey...DEFINATELY no blue lights for god sake!

I don't think he would have much to worry about. It is a Toyota truck layin' rockers.

To be a little more on the safe side take your star/badge and give it a more cartoon look, like something out of Loony Tunes.

altho it is a mini, i agree its a fine line. your best bet might be to just ask a local cop what is considered impersonating and go from there.
