It just pipes into your tank like your compressor does. You plumb the tank into your 5 gallon and set you regulator and open the tank so that it flows the regulated pressure into the tank so you have constant pressure.

my boy had this set up. he only used one scuba at a time so he only had one set of regulators but when he was empty from tank one, just release the black unit (known as a "fill station" in paintball use) and attatched it to the other bottle. each can hold up to 3,000 and 80cubic feet.

i used to have this set up but i got sick of driving 35 minutes to get my tank filled so i just took the check valve out of the regulator and used my compressor to fill it. A brake line hooks into the regulator on the tank. Then get a fitting to turn the male brake line fitting into npt. Im sorry i dont have any pictures because i dont run the regulator anymore, just the scuba tanks with 1/2 line coming out of them.

Ive got just about the same setup that is pictured above. The hose the leads off the regulator goes to a side port on my tank & I just turn the regulator on when I need extra
air!
