Ok so I was driving down the road and starting to hear a noise coming from my front driver side tire. Then the wheel started to shake. So I pulled over and jacked the truck and took off the wheel. And tiny pieces of metal were everywhere. Outer wheel bearing had shatter except for the inner ring. It is either wedged on the spindle or got so hot it welded itself to the spindle. Anybody got an ideas on how to get it off? I have tryed pounding it from both directions but no luck so far. Was thinking if it got hot and welded itself to the spindle could I simply heat the ring up and maybe it will slide off then??? Any help would be apreciated.

if its welded on, then you need a new spindle.. at least that is what everyone told me when mine was!

Score it with a grinder/wizz wheel so that you can break it off. then inspect the spindle to see if its still good

What about a cold chisle and a 5lb hammer? Don't tell me I am the only one on here that has had this happen to them.

I had that happen to my truck and we cut it off in pieces with a cutoff wheel. It sounds like your truck did not break the entire bearing since the truck still rolled. The spindle should be ableto be smoothed in most cases if you catch it before it snaps.
