Anyone done it? I have been looking around the net for a while and have seen them going for $400-$700 a set, varying amounts in the set. I figure I can draw them up and cut them out of D-2 and send them out to get 58-60 Rc for that long lasting effect.

How many sizes do you need? They only really get expensive after 3".

I was thinking of building a set of quarter or half inch increments. The set I was looking at would do .125" chromemoly. Thanks for the link Seth those prices are pretty reasonable.

Yeah sizes like that you will definitely have to make on your own. It might be worth it to get a couple of the sizes already made that you would need, and copy the angles for the sizes not readily available.

I've been reading up on them for a while, and Light Racing seems to be the best bang for the buck. And Extreme Crawlers has the best pricing on them I have found.

that place is only a couple miles from my house. every fabricator in a 200 mile radius knows how great the yard store is, you should see all the tubing and metal in the sheds outside. giant sheets of high polish aluminum diamond plate, 11ga wall oval (yes oval) tubing. Any tool you could possibly every need. love the yard.

Hey Chris do you still have my number? If so give me a call I am wanting to do something close to what you do and I am sure we can work something out between us. If not send me an IM. Hell for that matter I have access to a heat treat oven that I am going to heat treat my little dies I am making.

Hey John I still have your number, i'll try and give you a call this week sometime. I'll use the heat treater that we go to at work. Its only 10 minutes or so away. I usually slip stuff in with work stuff and they do it free. Shoot me a PM and let me know what your thinking.

Chris, I got my dimple dies, do you still want measurements? I am still unsure of how to measure the tape on them, but I will give it my best shot with the angle finding tools I currently have. I can also give you the measurements of how tall the taper is, and how large it is at the top and bottom, if that helps. I have 3 different sizes.
