Ok so a while ago it would turn over a couple times then start. I took it to a mechanic and he said the wire wasnt strong enough from the battery to the engine (its in the bed). So he went and re-wired it with stronger stuff. Worked fine after that.

Then the other day I went to move my truck. It hadnt been started in about 5 days or so. I went to start it and it started to turn over a couple times. Then all of a sudden the neons turned on (the switches for them dont even work). I turned it off and tried again. Did a couple turn overs then it started.

Went to go start it just now. Did the couple turns. But then there were less turn overs until there was nothing and the battery started to click.

I dont think its the battery. It has a yellow top optima. It was just re-wired. It has a somewhat new starter I believe.

What do you think it could be? Im startin to think there is some bad electrical with all the misc. stuff that was in it. I looked behind the glove box one day and saw a ton of wires. Some of it was for neons and I assume for the stereo. I really dont know at this moment.

Also, the stereo wont turn on. It flips down but for some reason it wont turn on. My friend thinks its either a fuse or the head unit. So maybe it could be a fuse thats related to it not starting?

Any thoughts?

alright, it could still be dead along with bad connection. I asked that b/c a lot of ppl get just the deep cell and starting a car with them, kills them in a yr or 2.

Tomorrow my grandpa is gonna come over and jump it. Then we're gonna take it back to his house and we're gonna try and clean up the wiring. Then send it to the mechanic friday.

Before you send it to the mechanic....be sure to check all of your grounds really well....(assuming your battery isnt fried and check your power cable to your starter and make sure its tight and clean with no corrosion.
