Soooooo

97 S10 4.3L
Engine and electrical system is all stock.
I just replaced the CTS(coolant temp sensor).
New fuel filter...

Aright so when i go to start the truck in the morning(about 40 degrees outside), it cranks over but will not start unless i spray carb cleaner in the intake, then it starts right up and runs perfect...and it will start thruout the day(averaging 70 degree days) unless it cools all the way down again. In that case i need to spray it again.

First off, i gotta say having remote start is heaven for having to spray fluid to get it started! haha

Anyone have a clue?

I have seen this problem before on a 4.3
But in that case it was caused by the injector(s)leaking down over time flooding the engine. This made it almost impossible to start in the morning.

You could check this with a fuel pressure gage on the fuel rail. Presure should hold over night when the truck is off. If it is a leaking injector then you should smell fuel when you open the TB.

Or.

Do you hear your fuel pump come on right away with the key turned to ignition! Not sure about your year, but on others if your FP relay is bad, then the oil pressure switch will be a backup and run the FP. This would cause a cold hard start.

Also with a FP gage you could check to make sure your presures are correct with the key on and when the engine is running.
A weak FP could also cause your problem.

Good luck

YEah fuel pump comes on and seems to be fine because it runs perfect once it's started...
