they are two different body styles. If you want to use the 4runner side marker lights your going to have to graft them into you fenders and for a someone who doesnt know what they are doing that would be a difficult task. but if you just want the grill and head lights you would probably just need the core support off the 4runner and then you might have to make new mounts for your fenders but im not really sure.

To run just the grille and headlights, you can modify your core support to accept them, and it will all look pretty good with the stock 84-88 corner lights- the chrome trim won't quite match up, but unless you're willing to make some significant sheetmetal mods just to run 92-95 4Runner corners it's not a big deal.
Another option is to just shave the corner lights completely- less bodywork than the conversion, and even more custom!
You'll also need to convert the H4 plug that your truck's headlights use to the 9004 plug that the 4Runner's headlights have. Each has three wires, so it's not too hard to convert.
Good luck with the swap- post pics when it's done!

I wouldnt say that shaving out your corner lights is more custom than grafting in the newer ones.

I meant as far as the look to a casual observer. Swapping out the corners to the newer model would be a killer mod, but many people would look right past it, versus the look of shaved corner lights.
But yes, you get more show points and bodywork cred for making the 4Runner corners fit right.

I get what you were saying.
