Thinking of going old on the interior of my mazda...wondering if it is possible to make fit a 50's ford f100 column and wheel, how would I go about this?

first thing I would do is measure the two. You can get any style u-joint to mate just about any column to any box/rack. Also the steering wheel is probably going to be alot larger in diameter, so make sure you have ample room between you wheel and the seat for your legs.

I have a 54 F100 if you need any measurements. The column is pretty small. Its about 1" diameter, with a little box for turn signals (this was an option however, and hung under the column because not all trucks had signals, one of two I own has this) and if you had a column shift there is a 3/4" diameter tube under the main shaft that you actually steer with.

The steering wheel, is 17" or 18" diameter, I can't remember off the top of my head. Somewhere around there though. The column, honestly, doesn't look that cool. I think a painted Ididit may be more the thing you want? One of their tiltless columns. They are pretty nice.

room? the whole damn interior will be a steering wheel! Guess I need to actually track down a column and see what I can come up with.

Also last time I dealt with ididit, got no were very slowly.

Try Flaming River then, if you don't like Ididit.

use a jeep column if your lookin for a gm one. XJ/MJ variety(cherokee/comanche) as the columns in them are GM and parts are readily availble(they look better then the camaro column anyways) if your wanting that look, look up speedwaymotors, they got some universal stuff that is similar to a 40s/50s ford column that will be hella cheaper.

I love my Ididit column. I didn't have a problem with them, fast shipping too, seeing how there in Michigan, lol. I believe there non tilt columns are fairly cheap too.
