I just talked to a guy about a 91 full size chevy that he wants $500 for without the bags...he wants 900 with the bags. i haven't looked at the truck yet, i will be going sunday, but he says the doors have been shaved, the top bodyline has been shaved. it has a monoleaf setup in the back (that will be taken out if i buy it) and a v6 that is running. i will be checking out the truck sunday but until then do you guys think that the truck is worth it?
I would said that if it runs decent and its not a total rebuild project it should be a good deal. I would keep in mind that any crappy work that has to be re-done when you look at it. It may end up costing you more to get the truck back to workable condition than what you could spend on another good project.
I unno man i bet the top bodyline is shaved using fiberglass, takes alot of metal work to shave that top bodyline. And id becareful with the monoleaf, and the fact that its only a 6 too
brian if you dont want it let me know. im in the area and need a project. im jones for something its been a while since i cut on anything. and sounds cheap enough for me.
try to come out to the show tommorow. the raddison at bus. 85 and i26 in spartanburg. cya
well see if i get it i plan on pulling out the v6 and getting what i can for parts out of it.. and the monoleaf is pretty scary i bet.i would definately cut that out and put in a triangulated 4 link...as long as the body is pretty straight i will probobly get it...i need some practic on something cheap anyway. the truck wouldnt have insurance on it for months anyhow so it'd be something to mess with for a good while i think. any other opinions? oh..yea vandy i'm only home for the weekend from USC and i sold my ranger 5 months ago for piece of crap car to drive back and forth to college so i really won't be able to come tomorrow
^^^^ It sounds like you answered your own question, but yeah, if body is in good decent shape, go for it. Hell, if the V6 runs, you might could sell it for $500 and get your money back on truck
