So I am going to be bagging my Dakota this winter and am wondering what all needs to be removed/relocated to fit 20's and fully lay out?
I own a car audio shop so the wiring is no problem for me, so I have removed the stock clutch fan and shroud and replaced it with an electric fan so I can relocate the ECM and the main fuse panel to the rad support to get them off the fender tubs.
I am thinking that the A/C will have to be ripped out and possibly a smaller brake booster.
It is a 1998 with the 3.9 V6.
Anyone that has done this to a Dakota that can give me advice please do.

thanks.

the brake booster will be fine and the a/c needs to be moved up.... doogie from freaks of nature his lays 1/2'' from door on 20'' status and there fine

I would say move the a/c...Ive got a 2000 on 18s....but i went ahead and moved everything except the booster just in case i decided to go bigger wheels...and i got ride of the wells.....i honestly think the booster is okay...but ac prob. needs to go..

Some of the dakotas need a smaller brake booster... some already come w/ the smaller booster. I had to change mine out to get it to layout all the way.

i bagged a 98 w/v6 on 20s and zed it, and all i did was move the ecm to a bracket coming off the frame, and made a bracket to raise the driver side stuff higher, and bolted it to the bolts that hold the hood hinges, which also held the wiring harness up higher... and that was with +12mm offset 8.5s with 1.25" narrowed arms....

hey cris is there any chance you have a pic of that??

I'm sorry... you only need to worry about that (brake booster) with a bodydrop... not just a bag job! Sorry...

mine lays front crossmember and i did not mess with the ac or the booster on 20s and the fuse box i just put it on top of my new fenders

I only relocated my ecm and raised every thing on the drivers side, and mine is stock floored to the pinch on 20s. I was able to rebend a little on the ac lines and keep that as well.
