build a false floor for the tweed carpet... cover the trans hump first. second cover the firewall down to where the panels will go. then make solid panels (like door panels) for the floor on each side of the trans hump and butt them up to the sides of the trans hump. the soild panels you made for the floor will cover the semm coming down from the firewall and from the trans mount once you put them down on the floor. i hope i made sense and not more confusing than it sounds. if you cover just the floor it will look like shit. when workking with tweed it is best to work it in panels. other wise it will wear like shit over time. also you need to use a very hard foam in between the tweed and the wood.
