help with graphics

i'm getting decent at this vehical rendering,the only problem i got right now is the graphics.how can i get compound curves like flames and other types like that?i could use the pen tool but my hand isn't very steady with mouse and i can't change the lines like i can with my microsoft picture it!.can someone give me some pointers to do it with the photoshop cs?

is this a trademarked secret or somehting? i thought maybe some of you pros could help me out.anybody?

No secret just tons of practice...and I use the pen tool...and generally when doing complex graphics like flames where there are tons of arcs I make the graphic in illustrator first and then import them in since illustrator keeps the points even when you close the path unlike photoshop which gets rid of them when you close the path.

so if i can do it in another program then i won't have to do it in photoshop.I've gotten pretty good in picture it! 2001 cause unlike adobe you can draw a crappy design then go back and acually control where the lines themselves go.SWEET ,thanks
