just curious how people are going about building frame jigs on trucks with frames that need to be z'd? looking for the best way to do it so it all stays square and will lay out right.

people pretty much do it on a table.

Once they get the frame all plum and square with the table, they weld bar stock to the table and frame horns for the front side that stays the same and then do the same for the back part that stays the same. Then make your cuts perpendicular (square) to the table.

Then raise the center section however much you are doing then weld her up. Get it fully reinforced and welded before cutting the bar stock away from the frame.

Ive seen people use all thread for the center section as well to keep the center section in the right spot but "adjustable".

if you're talking about doing a frame that has to be z'ed to lay. What I do is get it square, tack my holders into place from the firewall back, then up front, i will stick taller holders and mark on there where X amount of inches up are.. cut the front end, get it held into place with spacers, then tack it to the holders.. then filler the cut area with gussets.

Yeah you don't need a whole table just get it level and weld some cross supports so nothing gets crooked and measure measure measure then cut and weld.

yeah kinda what I was thinking, level off the frame or do a half ass "z" on the stock frame(seeings how I wouldnt be using that part of the frame anyway) to get the measurements right on the body mounts.
