Ok I'm having an issue with my Tahoe. The biggest issue is that I'm broke so I still have stock stereo crap. LOL Anyways, my problem is that sometimes the radio will work but if I hit the smallest bump in the road it'll take a crap on me. I know nothing about wiring and stuff but maybe if I know where to at least start looking then I might be able to find my problem.

sounds like the harness might be loose. take the radio out and reconnect everything and reinstall. $120 dollars for a radio installed at best buy/circuit city is a solution as well

That may be it but from my experience with my brothers 96 Tahoe he had the same problem and when he got a new head unit and got it installed by best buy it would work then cut out. Like you said yours dose. To this day we have yet to find the problem best buy said it wasnt loose and that the whole trucks radio would have to be re wired and bypass the factory amps.

Oh that's nice...sounds like I just need a new vehicle cuz I think it could be other wiring problems, as I also have problems with the lights on the inside. There's this one turn I make on the road coming from my daughter's father's house and everytime I make the turn the interior lights come on. It's weird. At first I thought one of the doors may not have been closed all the way but it does it everyday now. So I;m guessing maybe it's just wiring in general? Like possibly a short somewhere? I have no clue when it comes to this stuff.

that is good information to know about the interior light coming on.... there is a short in a door. and what thatmeans is that in said particular door the door pin wire could be grounding out as well as the speaker causing the stereo to shut down. when you say that the radio takes a crap on you does it stay on and the sound just stop or does it completly go out? give me a shout through email droopy101@hotmail.com if you have any more questions.

hello kristin.you prob have a bad speaker or speaker wire grounding out somewhere. best way to figure out without tearing everything apart is to. fade stereo to front for a while if it does it then fade to rear and see what it does. keep playin with the fade and balance and you should be able to figure out your prob.as far as the light coming on I would say the drivers door pin switch which is on the side of your dash not in your door. they are horrible about going bad all my gm's have done it. and have seen numerous vehicles with the same probs. as you are having when i ran rogers. cya, vandymessage me if you have any more questions.but if your just wanting a new vehicle you can give me the hoe. I'll even take you for a drag in it when its done!

no the bad speaker/wire can be any car. they are horrible in jeeps the wires break in the door jam. but the pin switch is very common in gm's
