i'm doing a 2000 4-runner as we speak you could't pay me enough to do another one!!!

yes you can use a 2wd pickup frame.

I wouldn't be so straight forward about that. I dont think a pickup frame is gonna be a direct swap in and I doubt the wheelbase is even the same.
2wd pickup front clip is probably the best starting point though.

The front bodymounts and core support line up. The others have to be modified, or made where the bed originally mounted. And a 2WD standard cab frame is about the same wheelbase, so you can adjust when installing the 4-link. At least for a 4 door Runner this is true, I'm not sure about the 2 door.

definalty use a 2wheel drive frame, the body mounts under the core support line up, as well as under the fenders, everything else wont, and have to be fabricated, and body drop it as low as you want!

all what cost? You dont really sound like your understanding what everyone is saying. Ill sum it up, Its not going to be as easy as your thinking! Your going to have to start with a 2wd front clip and pretty much build the rest of the frame from there back. You will need to build 6 or 8 new body mounts so its not as easy as your regular bag job. but if you feel up to it dive in, just be careful the water is pretty deep.

Are you looking to pay a shop to do it? There is really no labour book to determine the hours for custom work like there is at your local dealership. Do some research on shops in your area, and approach the reputable ones for a quote.
