I have a 94 toyota pickup im building, and i would like to get a fuel cell. The problem is that i want to use my stock fuel gauge cause my dash is already smoothed. does anyone know what i need to make my stock gauge work with a fuel cell. Any help is appreciated. thanks

Check out the 92 in my profile. You'll need a deep enough cell to use the stock pump and sender. If your pump is the same I can cut you the same rings and you could weld them on to any cell deep enough, then just bolt up your pump.

Lay your gas tank flat on the ground. measure from the floor to the top of your tank. Your fuel cell will need to be that depth. Then take your stock fuel pump out. Pay attention to which way your float rises and falls. Then you can figure out which way in the fuel cell to mount your fuel pump. Just use a piece of paper to trace the hole for your fuel pump as a template to cut your hole in the fuel cell. (do the same thing if you have an emmissions hookup on the tank as well)

I have pictures of the 2 I built, one for my old frontier and one for a taco. I pressed the aluminum into 2 C shapes that slid together. 1 piece was the top and sides of the cell and the other piece was the front/back/bottom of the cell. I did it this was so i could cut my holes and then weld the cell together and not have to worry about shavings in the tank. I also made the measurements of the tank to match the stock fuel tank capacity. i cant think of the formula right now though.

Theres a finished picture in my truck profile for a reference.i have pictures of it in the two pieces to give you an idea. If i can find them i will post them for you.

just cut your sender rod down to fit.

and Joel, how much to get the rings cut out in aluminum for the fuel pump, and sender. My RCI fuel cell didnt come with the areas to mount OEM stuff obviously, so I just dropped my tank a little more, but using my fuel cell would be nice since it just sits in my shed.

It'd be like $30 for the pump ring and $20 for the sender. I just need to find the drawings so let me know and I'll start looking.
