i have a 92 standard cab and am tossing around shaving the back of the cab. not so much for looks, but to make it smooth. i want to run a sub box, but the shape comes in too much and i couldnt without moving the seat forward. i dont care about the hump up from the tranny tunnel or the cab vents. but it would be nice if it can be done from inside the cab, so the bed can stay on. then just paint the backside when i get a not beat to hell bed. any pictures would help. thanks guys.

well, I would take the bed off for sure, otherwise your going to have exposed welds and metal on the opposite side, and its going to Rust.

What are you guys using to streghten the back wall after you cut out all of the shape? Are you framing it with tubing? That stamped in shape provides additional strenght to the cab.

i have mr2 buckets not the bench. dont wanna slide the seat forward, so i have about 5" depth at the minimum to the seat from the wall. i could work with like 7-8 if the humps were gone. to add strength back, ill probably run a grid of 1/8" 1" flat stock since the wall is gonna get covered anyways. on the inside.
