This might not be the right forum but I know you can answer it. I have a few buddies wanting me to build some suspension parts for them. How do you get out of liability? I'm not concerned about the strength of my parts but I want to cover myself anyway since I know we beat on suspension parts. Thanks and anyone else that builds parts please chime in.

I don't worry about it. Shit happens and shit breaks. If you are really worried about it you could write up something saying that it is for off road use only and not intended for street use. If it's built right and installed right you shouldn't have any problems.

Unfortunately here in Cali, you cannot sign your rights away. If the customer dosen't sue you the insurance company will, if their insurane company doesn't someone else will...

The only thing that you can do is build the parts to the best of your capability and stand behind your product 100%. This is the biggest reason that I am so concerned with proper engineering.
