Ok, so far I have waaaay more money in my Toyota than what its worth..like many of us. Anyone have any recommendations for insurance for custom vehciles with stated value amounts? Like wanting to insure it for $15k or something like that? Ive looked around a bit, even called Grundy, but havent had much luck yet. Grundy states on their site they dont have model year restrictions, but they wouldnt consider insuring a '92 Toyota pickup.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated, kinda scared to drive the truck without it insured to a respectable amount.

I dont have my truck anymore but i went through my insurance company that i had my other truck through. At the time it was nationwide ins., just make sure if and when u go get it insured that you take a lot of pics. I first called the company and they gave me somewhat of an idea what to do.. I all else fails you will have a lot of proof pics if something does happen. I dont recall the amount that i had mine insured for but it was around 20-25 hope that helps sry for the book.

If you are under 25 and have even a speeding ticket on your record, then don't bother even applying. I didn't get accepted by Hagerty, and Grundy will not ensure vehicle with dual rear wheels.
I know a few people who use Hagerty and Grundy and only pay a few hundred bucks a year for like 25k of coverage.
I also know that they require the vehicle to be garage kept, and that you have a newer daily driver. They also say you can't drive it to work.

Hrmm, Im 26, have nothing on my record, its garage kept, and I have an 04' daily driver. Thought I remember that Hagerty has a year restriction and that 92 was too new...Ill go check it out again.

ive been looking into this as well. after racking up some serious money in my truck ive checked with my own insurance company about it. they couldnt believe that i had done so much to a truck that only books for like 2000. im still looking needless to say

Have to list it as an exotic for hagerty, with a minimum of an agreed value of 15k, which is fine with me. The quick quote showed me $606 a year..which is cheap for the coverage, Im just worried about how bad they might be on the mileage/driving stuff. Not like Im going to be driving it everyday or anything, but its not something I care to KEEP me from driving it when I want.

my trucks have been insured through Hagerty. My last truck was a 2002 and they insured it. It is case by case basis.

I am insured throught Grundy and have been for three years, its like 650 for the year. I had to get the Blaze appraised for a said amount and sign notorized papers that the truck will never be driven to work or to the grocery store, and that no one under 26 will drive it.

Ive got my show truck insured through grundy. ive got 20 grand worth of coverage for my personal vehicle 100 grand worth of insurance against damage to other people. They require you to keep it in a garage, have another vehicle to drive and you have to send in pictures and a description. basically like an application. Its about $400 a year for me. I believe its unlimited mileage too.
