is this nesacessary? i have seen this alot where the back of the cab is cut and i saw in the new minitrucking that the firewall on lowlife mikes tacoma was geting cut or can you just cut the floor and rebuild ?

well the point is to lay the rocker or door.. not so much the back of the cab.. lol. ive seen it done before but cutting the back of the cab is simple. its easier to do it than not to do it

It's just easier to finish it up nicely rather than welding to a corrugated back wall.

HEY MAX HOW ABOUT THE ACTUAL STRUCTURE OF THE CAB DOES IT WEAKEN IT OR ANYTHING SHOULD IT BE BRACED ETC ETC
BioMax   +1y
As long as the cab gets completely welded back togeher, you shouldn't have any problems.

how does everybody ensure the left to right location of the cab i know most people weld tubes to the frame and drop the cab on those but what about left to right?

When i did my cab i made line up marks with a marker on the inside and outside of the cab.And lined them up after the cuts.

The corrugated back wall is like to give that big empty area a little strength rather than a flat peice of metal back there although it can be done by shaving it but I usually still put some 1" square tubing behind it. But as stated previously it would be easier to just cut the back wall and meet it all back up giving it a factory appearance. Hope this nonsense is useful somehwere.
