when doing a rear tube chassis..

do you just cut off the rear frame from the cab back, weld a plate on the cut frame to make it a flat surface, then start your tube chassis from there?? just seeing how to start it... pics would help..

make tons of measurements for placing the rear-end later. keep track of where important things are... like the drive-line,
so as to not try to run a bar across there later,, cut the frame, leaving it open ended, then lace your new back 1/2 into the old frame that is left. if you do it under the cab it is harder to get to, but looks better when your done.

so if you cut off at the rear window, yiou should run the tube back into the frame a few feet?

yep.. a foot will due. welded up nice and solid. longer wouldnt hurt. maby think ahead-->(stock floor body drop??)

I like to drill a few holes in the stock frame (if there isnt some already) and plug weld it. Plate the other side and box it all in. I agree, should just stock floor it....what is another couple feet?
