jeep rat rod?

so ive had an idea in my head that seems like it would be pretty sweet. take an old jeep, like a 70s or something. not super old. but maybe super old. take the front fenders off, and just have that tapered hood and flat sides. run an old toyota 3T motor (the half hemis), with a couple side drafts. 5 speed. chop the top, weld the top on solid and forever. get a fullsize rear axle and have some mean tires stickin up over the sides of the body. run an old solid axle front suspension from something. drill the axle for looks maybe. shave it. suicide it. flat black. some cool old school body mods. do like a mesh and drawer knob grille. maybe some cool bumpers. and low as fuck. ill try to find a cool body style.

another option, would be to shorten the back of it a bit and fab a small bed rat style on the back. i think ill start on a 3D model if i find a good body style to work with. it would be the shit.

Do it up, man. Diversity keeps the sport interesting. When I was in high school, I went out to the local street races for the first time and I saw this crazy looking contraption that made no sense whatsoever. At first, I couldn't figure out what it was. I thought it was a homemade car designed after a 30's hotrod. Later, I found out that it was actually an old, stripped-down mail Jeep that this dude had built to go drag racing on the cheap! It was so cool to see something totally different than what the truck was originally made for. It was lightning fast and super loud too, which made it all the more exciting to watch. The guy became somewhat of local legend around town, just because he decided to be different. Everyone would always talk about the "crazy, mail jeep dragster" with the ratty paint, no fenders or doors, and a recycling bin that covered the nitrous bottle, lol!
