2.3 HELP !!!

i just aquired a 91 p/u with a 2.3 in it and its running real rough i dont want to think its major engine yet might be elec any body know any common elec issues??? please help thnx..

is it all the time or just at idle? if it is just at idle, a common problem for these trucks is the intake manifold gasket. the way to check this is while its idling, spray some carburetor cleaner around where the intake manifold meets the head. if the idle picks up and smoothens out then you found your problem. the manifold gasket is sucking air and needs to be changed.
