Quick question... I know its important not to use regular plastic type airline from the compressor to the tank.. however, is it ok to run the standard stele feed line that comes with the AZ compressor to a water trap and then the plastic type line to the tank from the trap?

You should be fine with running plastic line after the water trap.
The point of the braided line is to help dissipate the heat from the head of the compressor- regular plastic line won't hold up to that heat over time.
But by the time the air reaches past the water trap, it's usually cooled enough that the plastic line will hold up for you.
However, the water trap should really be farther down the line than right after the leader hose, to allow for the water to separate better out of the air. Just a suggestion!
