i am working on an suv and taking the rear seats out is not an option. i was wondering how close i could put parallel 4 link bars together and they still function properly? this is the only option i can think of and keep the seats. cause i dont want to go with a 2 link or a reverse link if at all possible.

i have a triangulated 4 link on my explorer and still have room for the back seats. seems like if you run a parallel 4 link you should be fine especially if you mount it out side the frame if you have room between the wheels and frame. thatway when it arcs up it is tucked inside the wheel tubs.

look at how Cadillac does their 4-links on the '59 to 70's, they found a really good way to conquer that issue.

Check out the Nash in my profile.

What they do is move the upper link bar pivot on the rearend as far back as possible. And the upper link can be half as long as the upper and still offer good travel if set up right.

move it far back as in toward the rear of the truck or toward the other link bar????

I'm not sure what you mean by toward the other link bar.

Move the upper bar back in the chassis as far as you can. That way you can keep it as far out of the seating area as possible.
