remember, there has to be a shock/cylinder running through the center of the bag no matter what. other wise there is nothing to stop the spindle from flopping around, because there is no upper arm.in my opinion just spend the $800 and buy strutbags kit and be done with it. i hate dealing with poor/cheap design problems.

Are you saying that the bag would be too unstable to support the spindle from moving side to side? If so, I can see that definately becoming an issue.

Looks like the best option is airstruts

Wayne, doesnt lowrider depot just sell to dealers??

there is no way a bag could hold that force alone, your wheels/steering would be all over the place. i had the aim strutbags for 3 yrs, till they snapped (when i was 1500 miles from home) now i have the airlift self fab ones, they dont get the lift aims did, and are kinda rough ride, but overall seems to be very beefy and well built shock. definitly worth the $.

You can do a strut set up or a mac cylinder setup. I got my strut bag setup from Chassis Tech and it was flawless. The only thing i had to do to make it go lower was to cut the shock towers and lift em a couple of inches. EAI makes a mac-cylinder, however I haven't tried it out yet. I just ended up using the struts up front and cylinders in the rear. I have had this set up for a few years now and no problem at all.

i had the same problem, all i did was made mounts off the lower control arms for 2500 bags and run a stock strut with no spring
just make sure you have clearance around the bag when you turn both ways when its up and down
