I dont know what pics your lookin at but all those above my post are upside down....and the second to last pics is the rear of a civic, there is no need to run them upside down.
Tom...you just take the stock strut and gut the shock(cut it it open and remove the piston. Cut out an opening like the pics above for the fitting. Your cylinder will slide in to the strut housing but dont weld them together. You need to cut down the strut housing accordingly because it is acting as your spacer, the collar of the hydro cylinder will rest against the top of the strut housing but i would use a donut between them just because. Then just bolt the ram to the stock strut bearing....make sense?
