I'm wondering if my memory serves me well to remember that with the ignition "on" in my 93' Yota 22RE, not started, you could pull the throttle lever and release it then hear the vane flap slap closed. Anyone know for sure that it does. Mine no longer does. Anyone ever repaired a VAF? I tried repairing the solder points the solder points to create a better connection with no avail. Let me know!

It shouldn't snap shut, there's a damper to slow the closing. Also when you set the Throttle Positioning Sensor (at the throttle body side), the butter fly will not be setting on the seat!

The sound I'm referring to is the flap in the V AF sensor on the intake pipe. I seem to remember hearing it before. No ones ever heard of or repaired a VAF themselves?
