you might put that at the beginning in bold instead of the end with an "oh yeah" tacked on. both guys above are trying to be helpful (seth no doubt would have posted his well pictured and excellently storied how-to himself if you had been asking about cut floor)

I did a sfbd on mine, pictures are in my profile. I didnt have access to a frame table, so I built a jig exactly as wide as the original rails and marked the position and height of the stock cab mounts with pins. With the front clip welded to the jig, I knew the rails would be straight and level, and then a just measured down 2 1/2 inches on the pins to locate the new body mounts. the cab dropped on and I could see daylight through all four holes, success!

I have no room for a table, so I built a simple jig on a level every which way floor with some 1'' 1/8 thick flat stock with some threaded rod welded to it. My body mounts are perfect.also check this out for referance measurementshttp://www.mazdatruckin.com/B2200/FrameSpecs.html

That definitely would have been a good idea. You're still getting answers for traditionals. Had that been what you wanted, yes I would have linked to the simple how to on here. Or told you to wait a few months for a very detailed article on a traditional Mazda BD to come out in MT.

As far as stock floors go, I haven't done a Mazda, but they aren't all that different. On a Mazda you should be able to go to the pinch without actually cutting the floor at all. Theres plenty of room between the transmission and the tunnel. I just did a 720, stock floored to the rockers. Its in my profile. I did it on jack stands without removing the cab. I braced the frame diagonally and side to side, then cut the frame into an L shape and laid 2x3 inside the rails, then welded it up, build new bodymounts, a backhalf, cut the floor up and dropped the cab. I would consider it a quick and dirty stock floor, because it was quick yes, but won't look as good as a 3/4 frame. But some people don't care about what the frame under the cab looks like, so maybe I'm just weird.

you couldnt do a mazda that way, the frame is only 5" tall, you would end up with a slightly less than 2 inch bodydrop, hardly worth the effort of pulling the cab.

I forgot to mention, I made my frame level with the front crossmember , which normally hangs down 1/2 inch, by spacing the original rails off the jig 1/2 inch before welding it all down. This z'd the front frame horns and allowed me to drop the cab mounts 2.5 inches.

Its hard to explain, but a 5 inch tall frame rail replaced with a 3 inch tall frame rail would still only equal a 2 inch body drop, but if you add the 1/2 inch spacer to the bottom of the original rails, you would effectively have a 5.5 inch tall framerail repalced with a 3 inch tall framerail, for a 2.5 inch bodydrop, enough to lay rocker. Mine will lay rocker once I drag the pinches.

This also keeps you from having that too common "ghetto lean", where the front crossmember hits the ground first and the truck leans back when laid out.

Well its only 2.25" to the rocker. So it could be stock floored the way I described to the pinch without cutting the floor. The Nissan I did had a 4.625" tall frame, and I stock floored it 2.5". Its do able, the floor will just need a little bit of work is all.

Its definitely doable.
