hey guys ok so i just bought me a 85 c10 and im gonna bag and bodydrop it soon i have been looking around and i see that im going to have to z the frame atleast 2.5 to 3" and drop spindles so it will lay frame on 22s or i might even go with 24s wit 275/30/24 tires im guessing? now my question is how many inches do i have to bodydrop it so the doors will lay on the ground.. kinda like this truck

6"

kool thanks man now does it have enough room to move the cab mount on the frame down 6" or do u have to build new cab mounts on the bottom side of the cab?

I'm thinking 6" is too much. If you stock floor it with 2x4 3/16" which will bring it down 2" to the rockers hard! then conventional body drop it the rest of the way you may be looking at max another two inches which i don't even think that much u will need not with my 69 i did.

well i wanna keep it stockfloor as possible, i dont wanna do a conventional body drop or channel it if i dont have too u know,

use 2x3 tubing

Do 2x3 1/4" I believe u still need a fraction with that extra inch going with 2x3. So in order to do so and keep it stock floor u will need to cut down your body mounts some. Heat wraps for sure on the exhaust!

The reason I say 2x4 then conventional loosing 1.75" of headspace isnt sh*t really plus your not sacraficing ride quality by using 2x3 and cutting down your body mounts but if it must be done that way then ^ is your best option.

Kevin at just plain trick built a 81 c10, it's here somewhere that lays door, traditional bd 6". His origianl question did not include wether he wanted messurements for a trad BD or SFBD.
