Im looking at putting a B2600i motor in my 83' Mazda B2000 Sundowner. Does anyone know if the motor and tranny will bolt right up? or am i gonna need to fab new motor mounts?

I'll use the tranny from the 2600i motor also, will it bolt up to my trannys X-members original location?

stay away frow FI engine man, its very hard to get this engines to work right, unless you have a mad experience on mazda motors.

the b2600i has different mounts on the frame than the 2.2/2.0 of the same year, and all of them have different frame mounts than the sundowner years, so no, it wont bolt in.

also, the b2600i heads are flawed from the factory. if it hasnt cracked yet, dont get it warm. They cant be fixed or rebuilt, you have to buy the upgraded head from the dealer (900 bucks!). So keep that in mind if swapping.

wOW thanks guys, definatley didnt know they had so many problems. Im just looking at swaping a new motor in my mazda and rather than keeping the carbureted motor I got I was looking for something fuel injected so I could rebuild and turbo it. I was trying to stay mazda, ANy Ideas??

how about a turbo ford 2.3, those would prolly be a better bet

you can get a 1.8l miata engine, and they already make a lot of turbo/gofast stuff for it.

or the Kia 2 liter, which is a 16v mazda F series motor. madlowmazda on here has that swap and is just a dynamite human being.

both will need converted to work in your truck.
