Idea for my bed?

Ok so right now I dont have much of a bed. And theres still some of it sitting on top of the axle when its dumped.


I had an idea so instead of paying a couple grand to have a shop remake the inside of my bed or find a new bed from a junkyard,

I could cut the bed thats over the axle and get some wheel tubs that will also clear the axle.

Then weld some bars horizontal from side to side throughout the bed to reinforce it.

This would mean that id have to keep the bed cover...but if this saves me money ill keep the bed cover no problem. But Id be able to drive with the back all the way down fine.

Now would this work or did I come up with a bad idea lol?

Just brainstorming.

Thats the way to do it if you don't want to re-skin the whole bed.

The pic its hard to see.. But it looks like you could just put a new back wall in.. maybe some reinforcements... clean the wheels up with some trailor fenders if you wanted..

You talkin about that white single cab from like a month ago on here? But no Ive had this truck since August last year.
