any one put new model bed on 83 style yota

i was wondering if any one has ever put a new model yota bed on a 83 body style yota???

i thought about it at one time... back when i was looking for another 83 yota, all i could find has rusty ass ends. it def would fit but the body lines would obviously need reworked or shaved. there is a company in canada that makes fiberglass beds for 79-83 p/u's.

What year model bed are you going to go with?
The 84-88 or 89-95? Talk to Seth on here & Im
sure hell have some input on that, but I think the 84-88 4x4 bed would look cool if you could make it work!

i seen a guy with a tacoma bed on one. looked funny. he was a field worker.

my bed has a few ruff spots and i cant find a good one the same year

the 79-83 yotas are more "rounded" than the 84-88 yotas. therefore a 89-95 bed would be the best fitment in my opinion. and probably easier to find! also keep in mind that the 79-83 yotas are not as wide as any other year toyota hence the reason its a bitch to get wheels to tuck on them.

The 84-88 bed is the closest to matching, but its about 1.5" wider so it looks funny. The body lines are also in a different spot. The bottom of one body line lines up with the top of the other. The shape is all wrong, and the fender openings are too. I think it looks terrible, but thats just me.

The beds are hard to find for these trucks, believe me, I know. I searched for 10 months before finding the one I have now. It is doable though. Just keep looking.
