You definitely want the pivot joint at the axle end not the frame. If you think about it, it does make sense. The axle is what is actually doing the twisting, in relation to the frame. The bars at the frame have no problem moving up and down, which is all they are doing when the axle is articulating. And if you want to 3 wheel, or hit sides and do it big, pivot joints or heims are the way to go. I ran a combination of the two on the 720 I just did, and got 18 inches of articulation in the rear alone.
