I am bagging my 2001 silverado on stocks, the wheel and tire combo add up to a little over 30", I have to run the stocks at this time, so drop spindles are out of the question, anyhow, I really have no choice but to work with what I have. I have cut the lower and upper control arms and extended them up and out one inch, while angling the ball joints to a better degree, which seemed to be perfect. Obviously building tube control arms is the way to go here, but time might not permit this, as school is starting next week! My question to you is do you think it would be fine if i plated and welded my cast uppers? I also have raised and extended the outer tie rod ends as well, i am also planning on plated these too. Will these work, thanks in advance for your time.

I have proven to myself that working with cast can be done with great success, but the thing about telling someone else to do it is an issue. Cast is really sensitive to stress risers and needs to be aproached differently than standard steel. So without knowing the extent of your abilitys, I would warn against it.

I feel pretty confident in the methods i am using I just wanted to pick your brain for a minute due to my moment of doubt, being that it is my daily. Thank you for your response.

Maybe with drop spindles, but i can't run them with stocks and since my stocks are fucking huge, i just went this route, i'll eventually build some tube control arms.
