Hey Max I'm from Oz and im in the process of building a single cab rodeo(not sure if thats what you guys call them),anyhow im building the rear clip off the car and was wondering when it is time to attatch the rear clip to the original frame, where would the best place to graft them into each other. Its going to be triangular four linked. Im building all new crossmembers also.Would there be any major stress points i should be cautious of or would it not matter too much where they join.Hope you understand that and thanks for your time in advance.

That is the trick... Knowing how to eliminate stress risers.

There really isn't a "best place" to tie the two frames together. Just realize that wherever you choose to do it will be a stress riser and should be reinforced accordingly. A diamond plate is a good way to reinforce while spreading the stresses out. Other than that, where ever you marry the two should be fine.

ok cool thanks just one thing i dont totally understand is 'diamond plate'?Im not too sure on where you would place the diamond plate for it to re inforce. do you mean some flat plate cut out and shaped as a diamond or a crossmember resembling a diamond?Sorry bout this just want to get a good pic in my head before i totally understand it. Again, thankyou heaps for your time, very much appreciated!

I believe he is referring to something like a "fish plate" which is basically a gusset over a vertical weld, sometimes horizontal.

As far as joining the stock frame to the backhalf, I like doing it under the cab because it looks cleaner.
