1994 nissan sentra swap

i have a 1994 LE 1.6 dohc sentra...stock motor is weak. should i custom turbo the 1.6,swap to a sr20 det or swap to a ka24? and how hard would the swap to a ka be?

i also have a 94 and i love it its ok on gas but if u want faster do the sr not the ka ive never seen the ka done front wheel drive ? check out ebay or google it for a swap but do alot of research first problems will occur

my little brother had the ka24de in his 96 Altima, so it is out in fwd. But I'm not much help with any motor swaps. The ka was a nice size motor and would be better in a smaller sentra.

i do believe that i will be swapping out engine,tranny,axles,harness,ecu, any thing else?

Red top SR20 or, if you can find one, any of the RB motors

i had a 92 and i had a choice of bagging my truck or putting a sr20 engine in my sentra se-r, i've reseached the hell out of it and the sr20 engine is by far the best thing you can do to a sentra, for the ka motor they come stock in the 240sx and i've seen people built them and turbo them and still the sr20det stock will still pull them in a race...like (bill) said the RED top is the best, j-spec engine and strongest sr20.
and now i regret selling my sentra and have been looking for a se-r ever since... p.s. if you can bypass the smog systems it will help..

i would go with the KA24 its alot easier to get parts for. dont get me wrong, th SR20 is a great engine, i had one in my 240sx. but if you over heat it say good bye. the ka24 has bigger displacement and iron block. you can safely boost 7-8 lbs on a ka with stock internals and either way it will be fast. but its easier to come accross a KA24. i actualy just gave one away with 30k on it. they are like 300 bucks. you can build a KA that will kill an SR for about the same cost

well you have both sides ka and sr. my buddy put one in an bmw and pulls 13psi stock, so either was sr comes turbo'd and ka you have to build it, your choice
