Hey Max, I am looking to get my truck stock floored this summer, but it calls for putting a small block ford in a s10 clip.

Are there any good articles, or a somewhat basic explanation on how to do this? I won't be doing the process, but would like to know how to make sure it's done right once I have it back. I plan on them sectioning the crossmember to fit the motor, or just plain raising it a bit if need be. I don't want to open the motor for more than maybe sectioning the oil pan.

So whats the deal here, does it go at a dead perpendicular line to the firewall and parallel to the frame, any angle to lean it back or anything? Is there just some general rules?

I don't know where to tell you to start. Any time that I have had to install a motor in a vehicle that it dosen't belong in, I've just started by stuffing it in and seeing what needs to be done to get it to sit where I want it to.

Generally speaking, you want it to be as close to level (front to back) as possible at ride height, but there are many circumstances that will change that. If you look at many of the factory intake manifolds from earlier carbureted vehicles, you will notice that the surface where the carb mounts is quite often angle front to back to keep the carb level where the motor isn't.

Sooo... What I'm getting at is that i don't know where to point you.

Sorry
