cold weather problems?

I wanna know if anyone else has any problems when the weather gets f'ing cold. I guess my check valve on my tank from my edc froze shut so when i kicked on the compressor yesterday i blew a whole in my air line. Has anyone had this happen or anything else pertaining to the cold weather

My S10 I used to run around in during high school would have the valves stick on me all the time...of course that was back when I didn't think a water trap was very necessary either

isn't there something you can put in your tanks that will help keep that from happening? I have heard of people using something but can't remember what it is.

some stuff from a semi shop or something like that. for their air brakes i believe. when its cold my fill valves freeze up so i just crank the truck and let it run for a lil while and i guess the heat from the motor warms them up and unfreezes them.

did anyone watch that show "ice road truckers" it was tlc or the dicovery channel , anyways they were pouring an air anti freeze in their air lines i think it was some sorta alchol based solution. might wanna check a truck stop or with a local big truck dealer to see if they have something like this.

Only problem I got is no damn heat....brrrrrr.....unless you count the heat from the exhaust being 1/16th in. from the floor.

its air brake antifreeze, you would normally pour it in the glad hand hole, which is where you hook the air line to the trailer. i work at a freightliner dealership, we sell it under penray brand, its part# 5632. its about 3 bucks a quart. cheap insurance...

sounds like a good idea. so u just put some in your air tank and call it a day. does it not affect the bags or valves when u you use it ?

only problem with the cold I have, is it's too damn uncomfortable to work on my truck.
