would an alum 4-link be ok. like the ones found on dirt track cars.

was wondering the same thing earlier this week. Im not sure what the problem would be, those D/T cars get put through hell.

I have had aluminum bars on my truck for over 5 years without any problem. Make sure to put anti-seize on the threads of your ends or they might not come back out!

It depends on how it's set up. I would be leary of a leverage type set-up, but a store bought link that has been proven and set up like it was proven should be fine.

Aluminum is very sensitive to stress risers and needs to be used cautiously. Also, a steel part can be built strong enough to theoretically never break, but no matter how overbuilt an aluminum part is, it WILL break at some point.
