1965 Cadillac Caught Fire

I am out in Utah on vaca right now and my friend just picked up a 1965 Cadillac Calias with a 429 that he was going to bag. He was in the garage trying get the car running right. Well apparently there was a fuel leak and the car caught on fire with it in the garage in the basement of the house. I was sitting upstairs in his living room and all of a sudden he is screamin fire, then a huge cloud of smoke comes rushing into the house. After emptying a fire extinguisher and shoveling snow under the car, the fire died down a bit. He also has a 70ish Plymouth Sport Fury that was sitting infront of the garage. We couldnt get it started quick enough so we tried to push it, but then the fire hit some gas and exploded. Its 4 degrees here and i was outside for a couple hours. all engine acc, carb, battery, hood, dash are toast. really fuckin sucks cuz the car was pretty straight and solid with the exception of the paint, he has been trying to get his hands on one for a few years. At one point all the fire personnel and trucks from 4 surrounding towns were here. I will have pics of the car/aftermath when it gets light out.

did the house get any damage or just the car?

Luckily the fire was contained to just the car and didnt get to the house. I really have to give the fire and police mad props for getting here as fast as they did and keeping everything under control, or the house would have been another story.
