I have what might be a stupid question....well when you build your own new frame or stockfloor your original frame how do you make sure you have your body mounts and bed mounts in the right location. I have always wondered but never asked.

Measure or build your frame on a jig. With the jig or frame table you can use tubing or rod to locate the bodymounts before you cut apart the stock frame.

What I do is just locate the cab and bed on the new framw and center it where everything thing is perfect(wheel base, side measurements) and then just build new mounts in that location. This works good in some instances too where moving the cab back a hair is not a bad idea(s10, etc.)If you were jigged you would be stuck with the original mounting spots. There needs to be some form of tubing that holds the cab and frame at the same height though.
